Is there any word if apple has fixed the whole "scuff-gate" production problems yet? Or does it look like a certain percentage of iPhone 5s will continue to come with scuffs/marks in the aluminum? (My white 5 came fine but two of my friends both had minor scuffs on their black models)

This might be why rumors of a early 5S are already popping up, perhaps to fix the production problems of the 5 with some kind of design change. Thoughts?

Wishful thinking. It'll most likely be the same design and material as it'll be a S type update if history is any indication. The "production problems" stem from the factory workers working too fast and their supervisors allowing predamaged iPhones to make their way into retail boxes in order to meet demand (which has never been as high as the past models). They just need to slow down.
