Has Apple resolved the MDP -> Dual Link Issues?

I was looking into 30 inch monitors for my unibody and read some horror stories about the obligatory Dual link adapter not working as advertisedhttp://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8674416

I know in recent months, Apple amended the product page to only support their own 30s, but the issues persisted with their own ACDs as well. Any updates?

I have been considering a smaller monitor or perhaps going instead to a Mac Pro if this isnt sorted out soon.

From what I've read, it sounds like it's somewhat of a crapshoot. You may get one that works, or you'll get one that doesn't. Due to the active nature of the adapter, I think there will always be issues, and it's a very hacky way to get the 30" to work.

It sounds like you haven't purchased the monitor yet? If that's the case, I would wait until the the 30" is updated to have MDP.
