Because I just walked into an AT&T store for something and I looked at two demo units, both at the same brightness and settings, identical everything (3GS 16gb black), and one was yellow as hell, and one was pure white. Mine, unfortunately, is yellow.

The salesman also thought it was weird and said that if Apple would exchange it, I should do it. But since this would be a defect, I technically have the whole year, right?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to look at a yellow screen for a whole year go ahead. It will not extend your warranty by waiting.

well im not sure if anything could be done about it on the software side, or if they've even said its a problem. and the chances seem low that I'll get a white one, and who knows what else could be wrong.

Just seeing what's going on...

ah, i saw my brother in laws 32gb black 3GS and that one is fine too. fml

I went to an Apple Store today and all the screens looked fine. Certainly yellower than my 2G iPhone, but I actually thought the warmer look was significantly better than the 2G, and I think I will be springing for a 3Gs soon.

You should swap.
