Has Photostream become inconsistent lately?

I have been using the following workflow flawlessly forever:

  • Take pics on my iPhone with Photostream enabled
  • Pics automatically sync to Aperture and are available in the "iCloud" folder (last 1000)
  • Pics also automatically copy over into a permanent folder for each month
  • If a pic is deleted from Photostream on any of my 3 devices that use Photostream (iPhone, iPad, Aperture), it is automatically deleted from all of the other devices in Photostream

This has been very consistent, reliable, and predictable. After iOS8 came out it has been a mess. The initial setup of iOS was so bad that I went in and deleted absolutely everything from Photostream and started over. That way I could keep close tabs on if things were syncing properly. Well, you guessed it, most pics are there, yes, but not all. I'm only talking a few dozen pics at this point.

How can we be expected to trust Apple and the Cloud when it can't even be accurate with a few dozen pics?
