I have had issues with my iMac since I have it, but Apple says it is just software problems and not hardware.
One that gets me confused all the time is the link between the address book and facetime. For some reason, if you have multiple different contacts that share common information then the contact meta information can get sent.
for example: My mother and father both own their own iPad and iPhone. So in contacts, they each have their own entry with a unique AppleID, but common address, home telephone number. As they are older, and set in their ways, they both use the same email address for corresponding with their friends. Probably as for the longest time they just had one laptop computer before they got their own iPad/iPhone.
If I try and facetime my mother, it will say 'Calling Mum' but show my fathers face as the icon picture in facetime. The facetime call will go to my mum's iPhone device.
If I try and facetime my father, it will say 'Calling Mum' and show my fathers face as the icon picture as well, but the call will go to my fathers iPad.
This problem is only with OS X 10.11 on my iMac, but works perfectly fine on my own iPad. I don't know if the problem was there on OS X 10.10 as my mother only got her own iPhone this year and I didn't feel the desire to load a previous OS X onto my iMac to test it out.
Trying to get Apple to tell me if this will be fixes is like talking to a brick wall. With all the other problems I have had with my iMac since I purchased it, I don't really want to tempt my luck loading a beta os onto the working computer as I don't happen to have a spare drive to test off.
I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue on their El.Cap or more importantly, has it been fixed on Sierra??
