When I received my Late 2008, Aluminum, MacBook from the Repair Depo today, I noticed they reinstalled Mac OS X because a few things were changed around and they would not do this. However, I also noticed that they used Time Machine because it was left on. I knew my hard drive would be wiped, but I have never seen them use Time Machine and backup the user's data before reinstalling Mac OS X. Guess I got a good person! Has anyone else had this happen to them before? Thanks.

Not the same type of thing really but a few years ago Apple repaired a faulty hinge on a Ti PowerBook and it came back with a fresh OS install (9 I think) and a few hundred MP3s in iTunes.
