Hey! Having just helped a good friend who bought a new iMac. She has to her old iMac that ran Maveriks able to network scan directly from Xerox WC 7345 to a folder on the desktop. I have helped others in her office with the same thing before and it has worked well. All of them runs 10.9 or older.

What I have done is started the FTP service through the terminal with:

sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

I have then shared the folder with Sharing and giving the user write permissions.

The printer I have put ftp://xxx.xxx.xx.xx/desktop/scanned:21 and it has worked out great on a variety of computers.

But today, when she bought an iMac with 10.11 this does not work anymore. The printer says it can not log in via ftp and that I should check my credentials.

On the new iMac it is the same username, it's the same folder in the same location, and so on. The only difference is the OSX version and IP address, but I have obviously updated the IP.

When i connect the old one and try to scan it works.

The printer is set up to connect through port 21, but I have also tested the 22nd Via the terminal, I tested: ftp localhost and it says that the service is running.

Extremely grateful for any help! Thanks!
