To all buyers of the new MBP:

Has the annoying audio-issue with hiss/beeps etc. when using the headphoneoutput finally been solved?

For people that have not heard about the issue, it is discussed in lenght here.

There aren't many people that actually have one of these yet. A lot of us are still waiting on our shipments to arrive so be patient. I'm sure quite a few people will be posting their reactions when their new machines arrive.

I can't wait to tear mine apart to figure out what type of SSD it has in it.

I know, obviously. But threads with people's first impressions of the new MBP have started ticking in, and I'm very curious to know whether this issue have finally been adressed! :)

A few of the lucky new owners have started their own threads about their new purchase and other people are asking questions there.

Seems like the owners are so busy answering ?'s in those threads that they're probably not noticing a thread like that.

Hiss/beep fixed!

Good news! The October MacBook Pro audio sounds great!

I just tried several lossless audio files, using my Etymotic ER-4 earphones (http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er4.aspx) and couldn't detect anything unusual. The random glitches and pops that made the audio-out jack on the previous MacBook Pro is totally absent.

I had resorted to using an external M-Audio DAC, the Transit (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Transit.html) which works great, but requires drivers.

I also drove my Ray Samuel's Audio Hornet from the same audio-out, just for fun. As expected, no change, just warmer. (http://www.raysamuelsaudio.com/products/hornet).

Enjoy!
