I have a MacBook Pro 13" (2020) refurb, 2.3 ghz. I7, 1TB, 32Gb that I have owned for 2-1/2 months with never any issues and suddenly last night upon turning the computer off I get this message, "The Finder can't quit because an operation is still in progress on a IOS device. Try again after the operation is complete." I proceeded to turn off my iPhone XR and the iPad Mini 5 and still got the same message. This morning while messaging back and forth with Apple support, I forced the computer to turn off holding down the Touch ID key, restarted the computer and did a normal shut down and problem was solved. Apple support said, "that sometimes programs get stuck thinking, especially if they recognize that there is a software update or an OS discontinuity." My computer did recognize the update of Big Sur plus 5 other update for Pages, Numbers, etc. which were for the new computers with the M1 chip. I have not yet upgraded to Big Sur.
So anyone else ever experienced this issue? Apple gave me a case number in case this happens again.
