iPod touch has this happen to you?

I was in the Apple store yesterday and there were a bunch of people calling it an iPhone.
I really liked listening to the girl (maybe eight years old) screaming at her parents "I want an iPhone. I want an iPhone. Buy me an iPhone" while holding onto a touch.

lol same happened to me i was walking down the stairs and all this kids are like look at his iphone i just ignored them
tell them it is an iphone and that the guy who created the iPod's (SJ) gave it to you personally. i lie at school all the time to people who have no idea about technology.
8 years old? With a device as costly as an itouch? Rich parents...

Well, I don't think that her parents bought her the iPhone... she was dragged out of the store fighting them.
Happens to me all the time... maybe one or two people (out of about 50) knew it was an iPod straight up. Its so funny, everyone always says the same thing (in the same order)
1. Damn, you got an iPhone!
2. Oh, that's an iPod? How much storage?
3. How much did you pay?
4. So, its like an iPhone without the phone?
People are always so amazed by what it can do, its like theyve never seen the iPhone before! (even they all have heard of it)

I hear everyone calling them the itouch. I think thats what there doomed to be called where I live. But it is much easier than saying ipod touch.
None of the people I hang around have heard of the iphone or the touch so they don't say anything - I spend as much (probably more) time around non-techies than I do techies... the non-techies generally know what an ipod is - half of them even have one - but to them it's just a thing that plays music.
Apple haven't really started advertising the touch over here though so give it time before anyone's heard of it.

I know exactly what you mean. I hang out with 0% techies. Probably the only reason they know what an ipod touch is is because some rich kid in my class parents bought him one.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Just talking to people who have no idea about technology is difficult. "Why can't they make the iPod touch and nanos 160GB? And the Classics should be just as thin as the nanos because they are still iPods!"
I tried to explain flash, it was a lost cause.
Quit complaining about it. Even if your not rich you do have a pretty expensive toy. So of course people are gonna call you rich just tell them "I dont give a F*** at least I have an ipod touch."
yeah i hate it when people call me rich when like i get a jet ski for my birthday and i was forced to accept a crappy mercedes (i like BMW's) from my gran for my birthday. i know exactly how you feel.
I'm the same all my friends are like WOW your on your 3rd iPod in 2 years YOUR RICH. Your parents spoil you. And I have to explain that I worked hard to them That the only thing I spend my money on is things I want. Not garbage $150 jeans, $200 nike shoes, ECT.
Haha, Amen. No clothes are worth that much. Yeah, people at school call me rich... but I make all of my money. I invested almost everything that I had (almost $5000 made from 2 summers of odd jobs/2 years of petsitting) when Google stocks first became available. Now look where I am.
haha yes the exact same thing happend to me....i whipped it out...and people said wowww you have an iPhone...and i was like no its the new iPod...and so i gave it to them to look at, and they said your lying this is an iPhone(as they are looking at the home screen ) haha so its pretty funny to see peoples reactions.
