Has Verizon's $30 data plan always been unlimited?

I am looking at the white iPhone, and Verizon's data plan is unlimited for $30 vs AT&T's 2 GB. Has this been the case seen launch with Verizon? Just never really looked before and was a bit surprised.

Yeah, it's been unlimited since it started. If you're thinking of getting an iPhone, get a Verizon one soon to lock yourself into unlimited data. AT&T was $30 unlimited for the first few years and just terminated unlimited data 6-ish? months ago. Become acquainted with a term called "grandfathering." So far, anyone who has unlimited data has been allowed to keep it, and everyone is predicting Verizon will allow the same thing. Who knows how long they'll allow that though.

If unlimited data is a priority, get it now. It's not going to be around for long (probably by Sept. when iPhone 5 comes).
