So the iPhone 3G has been out for almost a year now. I ask you... how many people have cracks? I have 3 by now and I've had this iPhone 3G for about 7 months now.

I don't believe I ever met one person who's iPhone 3G hasn't cracked.

Mine has, I went to an apple store the other day and the 4 out of 5 iPhones i picked up were cracked.

Hopefully they change the back of the new iPhone or at least the manufacturing process. It's crazy that these things show cracks like their white MacBooks.

Got mine during the first week of launch; o, cracks a-plenty!

Based on my experiences, the first-gen iPhone was built to a higher standard than the 3G. Argue with me all you want, but it really isn't just the carrier subsidy that brought down the 3G's price. ;)

Wirelessly posted (iPod touch 32GB: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A312g Safari/528.16)

Mine did and was changed under warranty. The replacement has no cracks, and neither does my wife's (which has never been replaced)

1 crack on the middle back. and the inner plastic of the charging indent has cracked off...and i have a major light leak top right. 7 month old black 16 gig iphone....will i get a swap for that?

Having an original iPhone, I'm not fluent with the cracks issue. Are the cracks actual cracks that go through the entire case, or are the more like a crack in the glossy coating?

I've seen a few pics of the cracks and they appear to me as the latter. I also imagine if the cracks went through the case (from outside to inside) the the case would be falling apart in your hand.

Mine cracked above the dock port and was right through the case.

Mine seems to have one crack, also in the dock area.. but it isn't all the way through the case. I must have dropped it or something.. the rest of the device has none.

If you disregard the carrier's subsidy the 3G is the same price as the 2G.
