Hasan Minhaj Joins the Cast of 'The Morning Show' for Season 2

Comedian and actor Hasan Minhaj has joined the cast of "The Morning Show" for season two, reports Deadline. Minhaj will play Eric, a charismatic, rising star that joins the news team.

Minhaj had a role as a correspondent on "The Daily Show," and he had a Netflix show called "Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj." He's also starred in a standup special, "Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King."

Minhaj will be joining the existing cast of "The Morning Show," which includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, and more.

Production on "The Morning Show" resumed filming on October 19, but there's still no word on when the second season will premiere. Season two filming started in March but went on hiatus for several months due to the pandemic, with the pandemic storyline set to be written into the show.

"The Morning Show" is one of Apple's most popular TV shows to date. It was nominated for several Golden Globe awards, and Billy Crudup won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

I loved Patriot Act and was disappointed Netflix didn’t renew it.

Morning show was not very good although Billy Crudup's character was outstanding. The best show Apple had was Defending Jacob - by far the best thing that came out of AppleTV +.
Shame its not a material that can go to more episodes. Hopefully they will bring more stuff like that.

I struggled to find him funny at first too, but I think once I got used to his over-the-top hand waving I found him a lot more entertaining. Regardless, I really liked Patriot Act.

I think the morning show was the best Apple TV program. Others were good, don’t get me wrong, but no other shows left me craving the next episode nearly as much. Even months after I watched it I remember the season vividly. The only think I’ve seen since that compares is The Queen’s Gambit.

That's a big get. I can't stand the guy's comedy but he is considered an up and coming star. Season 2 of Morning Show with him and Carrell. I'm excited!!

Very subjective. I would deem Servant or Ted Lasso potentially the best things to come out of Apple TV+, though at other times I certainly agree that Morning Show or Defending Jacob are close to the top.

It's hard to measure when these shows are all extremely high quality and best in class of 2020 streaming originals.

Though we'll never know the numbers don't understand Netflix's logic... the format was fine... a "fresher" version of HBO's this week with John Oliver which does quite well (which I enjoy, though John does seem to go on a screaming word loop a bit too often)...

Think his talent and impact is a bit "wasted" on a fictional series like TMS... wish Patriot Act could have carried over to ATV (though Apple may not want to get into a show with any sort of opinion... opinions are not Apple's style)

Got to admit, started watching the show last week and am enjoying it more than I expected. My wife loves it as well.

As someone who works in the industry, the show is startling realistic with the atmosphere and egos!

PS: patriot act should be part of N.American school curriculum imho. Such a great show delivered with great knowledge. Netflix may have had their hand forced upon them. Would’ve loved to see AppleTV+ pickup that show. Would perfectly fit in with their Think Different mantra.
