Hi all, a couple of days, I posted:

ages ago and using ClarisWorks 2.0, it was possible to chose an address in the data bank and it automatically appeared in a pre-configured letter template; any empty field remaining invisible and subsequent fields moving to left or up.

I spent hours to get Pages '09 work in the same way and am at a loss; can it really be that
- empty Address Book fields appearing on a Pages document with the corresponding field name cannot be (automatically) removed?
- letters to private persons (home address) and to companies (work address) require two separate templates?...and mailings to persons and companies separate merges?
- letters with domestic and international receivers require separate configurations, as otherwise the words "Work Country" or "Home Country" will appear in letters to domestic receivers, when these fields are not filled-in?

While above was read 45 times, no replies were posted, which makes me wonder:
- Am I alone in hating to type-in addresses and in therefore expecting an address-merge to actually function? Is it uncommon to expect an entry in Address Book to be ported in a Pages template without the chore of configuring it individually each time (which would take more time than to retype an entire address)?

- Can anyone out there recommend an WP-application other than Pages to import Address Book entries in the manner done in ClarisWorks 2.0? (To convert Address Book into a data-bank such as Numbers or Excel is NOT a good idea because I want my addresses to be contained in one and only file)

Without a smooth and simple address merging, Pages remains a crippled and unusable WP app for daily office correspondence; anyone out there to join my petition to Apple, to address this "address problem"?
