I have never had problems playing mkv vids in Quicktime 7 / Perian.

It no longer works. Has Apple done something to thwart it's compatibility?

But technically it should still work unless Apple has has changed something shouldn't it?

Do you know of another mkv alternative? I'm using AirVideo daily with mkv so I wonder what codec they're using.

Comes to my mind.....

VLC player. It plays not only mkv files, but a host of another audio and video files.....:D

Yeah, sorry I don't need another player. Yup VLC works great. I was wondering what happened to Perian because my mkv wouldn't play in QT7 which you need for editing mkv.

It's ok though, I'm now using MKVTools 3.x. Works well but you have to know the time markers. No video timeline which makes it sorta frustrating.
