Hi I just got a new exchange with 4.3.3, 04.10.01 firmware. Jailbroke it with jailbreakme.com. My iPhone is laggy and not smooth. Called apple and they suggest a software update. They also suggested a hard reset which I did and still laggy and not smooth.

Will the update help this issue? And is there a jailbreak for new software? Or should I go to the genius bar and get another device?

there is a tethered jailbreak for 4.3.4 and 4.3.5. if you have your shsh blobs saved for 4.3.3 you can try doing a restore before attempting the newest firmware to see if it fixes your lag problem

I only have a Mac.

Then your out of luck. Unless someone else has a trick... Because TinyUmbrella will only get your SHSH if the firmware is currently signed with Apple (iOS 4.3.3 is probably unsigned by now)... I can feel your pain... I am a Mac user as well...

Since this is a new exchange I'll just get another device.

My iPhone seems to running smoothly now with no lag. It started running smooth after I click ok when it was in safe mode. Wonder what happened?

Don't tell me all your friends have Mac too !!

I'm going to use our son's laptop, it's a pc.

What are the steps to do a restore with this dfu thing?

Do I need iTunes on his pc? If so how is this going to work if my iphone was set up via a mac?

IFaith does not pull up blobs that were not saved or signed to the device. People need to stop saying it does! as far as hpw to put it in Dfu REdsnow and Pwnage tell you how also http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034 and here is all the jb tutorials. http://www.iclarified.com/jailbreak/ you can do 4.3.4 or 4.3.5 but those are tethered JB no plans to change that before 5.0

DFU mode is DFU but Again IFaith will not let you sign/save 4.3.3 or any blobs once Apple stops signing it unless they are already saved. iIclarified is considered one of the best resource sites for jb tutorials.

IFaith is also designed to work with Limera1n-exploits jailbreaks such as Redsn0w not Jailbreakme.

Ok so 1st is dfu mode?

yes DFU! Ifaith also tell you how to put in DFU mode. I guessing that is what you are asking about and not anything that I said. well good luck!

this is what I'm asking....

I have a device that I want to restore. I have 4.3.3. This is a new replacement that is laggy. I already backed up contacts etc and I'm ready to restore....

I have access to a pc. Do I need iTunes on the pc? I have itunes on my mac. I'm borrowing pc.

Then is my first step iFaith/dfu thingy?

I have told you in many post that you can't do what you want to via IFaith etc. Maybe somebody that says you can will help you.

Correct answer was in post #2

I'm sorry I'm not well versed in this. This is post #2.

How do I save shsh blobs for 4.3.3?

If I can't then you are suggesting a restore then jb on 4.3.4 or 4.3.5?

Before you even consider iFaith, do a LOT of research. Start with googling "iFaith recovery loop". Or start with the most recent threads on it in this forum. It *may* work...but the odds appear against it for trying to restore from it. And you cannot use any iFaith blobs with more conventional/less buggy tools such as Pwnage or Redsn0w.

So my safest option is to restore then jb on the newer software?

The new ifaith works fine.( ih8noobsn0w says that )

@labman ih8sn0w says ifaith pulls the blobs of the firmware device is running irrespective of apple signing it or not. If u think it doesnot u should talk to him ;)

@OP
U Can do this
Get the LATEST ifaith.
Dump shsh.
Make a signed ipsw
Restore in iTunes

If it doesnot work ( i don see y it would not) in worst case scenario u will hav to update..
