I have a 2020 i7 Intel MBP (4 ports) which was a good investment at the time. However, I've noticed in Safari and other applications within Ventura, and the OS itself, small stutters here and there. Kind of like the system is "thinking", and it's not fluid or smooth. This is particularly bad with Safari.

I did a clean install of Ventura, so that's not the issue here. I temporarily used a MBA with a M2, and it felt so fluid and incredibly smooth with everything (and yes, running Ventura). The difference is subtle, but it's there.

Could it be that Apple is slowing down Intel systems purposefully to encourage people to purchase computers with Apple Silicon? Or could it be some kind of Ventura issue? I was wondering because 2020 is still fairly new, and we shouldn't be experiencing slowdowns in newer systems to begin with (regardless of processor).

I am not sure its intel related. I was at an Apple store yesterday and I noticed the same thing on most of their demo computers which are all ARM. Weird little delays when navigating the UI.

There is something wrong with resource management. Sometimes Mail can go up to 100% of CPU, sometimes Safari can consume more than 1GB of RAM with just one tab open. Force quitting Safari and opening the same page again - 400 mb of RAM.

I have an old Mac with Mountain Lion and I want to say it feels faster than my current one 😂
