Hi everyone. Been a looong time since I posted here. But I am not new to mac, I have had my laptop nearly 4 years and been working with Mac before that. I have a few questions and I am looking for answers and opinions.

So I am shopping for a new iMac. Budget is roughly 2500. I have kinda settled on the 3.1 ghz 27 inch w/ 8 gb RAM, 2TB HDD, 2GB video memory.

My first concern is Lion itself. I tried it out. Its alright on the hardware I have. Nothing to write home about, and my fan speeds were outa control, so I went back to Snow Leopard. Can I put Snow Leopard on the new iMacs? ( i have heard both confirmed no, and confirmed yes...) If it makes a difference, I have every intention of keeping Lion, SL would be on its own partition.

I want to know what owners think of the glossy screen. First reason I don't like it is I have used and seen many Macbook glossy screens, and didn't like them in lots of light situations. My MBP is antiglare, and I would never go any other way for laptop because I do go everywhere (outside) with it. Still, I though it would be alright on an iMac, but the local (brandnew) apple store is loaded with windows and it is impossible to see anything on the screens, and impossible to compare it to the room setting I plan to use.

Last question. Sorry if this deserves its own thread... I am looking for a simple and effective way to sync files or maybe certain folders between my MBP and new iMac. Something like the way dropbox works maybe, but locally. I DO have a wifi network set up at home, but it is shared with other family, and I do not want them to have access. Also, my Airport Extreme already has a HDD plugged in for storage, so I can't to that w/ a password.

So, anybody have any ideas? Also, sorry for writing a book...
