I added the "yet" to the question because I'm still hoping they'll fix this mess.

I'm also wondering if anyone who got the cancellation email did what it said to do, go into a local Apple or ATT store to complete the order. Is there something they can do at a store other than what they can do over the phone?

Think of it as a vasectomy. Doctors say it can technically be reversed, but in reality it rarely works.

Heh, yeah, that's about it I guess. I ordered another just to see what happens.

So I got the cancellation email last night and was
absolutely furious so I called AT&T to find out why and they
could not tell me anything.

This morning I went back to the store and talked to the
lady who helped me originaly. Turns out she charged my CC
as a debit not Credit like it should have been. Admiting that
it was her mistake the manager agreed to put an iPhone
on hold for me from the first come first serve stock.

Well see what happens on Thursday.

And she was assuming that wa the problem. Was that an ATT or Apple store?

It was an AT&T store.
She said she didn't know until later in the day
that she couldn't accept debit cards.
I wonder how many other people got there
orders canceled?
