Coming from a 2015 MBP with 16GB RAM and all the latest updates... The issue with the laptop was general ageing, the RAM maxing out and the battery dying.
Otherwise, every other aspect had improved due to Apple doing (what I think) is a stellar job optimising MacOS and apps like Logic.
This week, finally got my new 16" MBP with M1 Pro/16GB RAM... I am noticing almost no real performance differences!
Obviously the hardware is fantastic but in terms of rendering on Logic, using the other main app, running Chrome and Firefox.... It feels a BIT snappier but time-wise not even 10% faster when doing my "pro" stuff (loading files, rendering big stuff etc).
Is it that they optimised it for older machines so successfully or the new chip is only super fast for certain things? (Or do I need more RAM/Max?).
