Both phones have pitaka air case, so both feel comfortable in my hand.

My main reasoning is camera quality, battery and screen size doesn’t really matter. However the overall size of the phone is my main concern when it comes to 12 pro max. Even with pitaka air it feels massive and heavy. Definitely have to use both hands. With the 12 pro I can manage most things to be done with one hand.

Camera wise, I took pics of the same things side by side and there wasn’t much difference. Only very slightlty better sharpness on the pro max, if I was really looking for it.

Since my reasoning is mainly camera performance... after reading halide article about 12 pro max being limited by Apple with its true possibilities in pro raw.... I’m not sure what to do?
Most of my pictures are taken during good daylight conditions, but I do enjoy night photography.

Will the pro raw option actually turn the 12 pro max suddenly into amazing camera that will stand out from the crowd?

The differences in the Pro Max camera mostly manifest in low light. It’s still not a transformational difference, but if you want to do a proper comparison, I’d try doing some low light & night photo comparisons to help with your decision.

It may still be too minor to override your other preferences, but at least you’ll have a more complete picture.
