Have been given a 1st generation iPod touch with the proviso I cleared all the personal data on it, so used the reset within settings clearing the data having read the warning about it taking an hour.

Well since then I cannot get beyond the screen telling me to connect to iTunes. Neither the computer nor iTunes seem to recognise it. Have installed iTunes on a laptop and the same applies there.

Is it now a brick?
