I've had my iPad Air about 18 months now. I bought a 1st gen apple pencil with it that worked absolutely fine until I got it wet, which seems to have bricked it.

I bought a new pencil a few days ago, paired it on Tuesday, then when I went to use it yesterday, the battery was at 6% and it took maybe an hour to charge plugged in to the IPad.

This morning, after being sat on the table for about 6 hours overnight, it was at 80%. This time it charged up to 100% in five minutes.

I know the battery is notorious for draining while not in use, and it spent all its time next to an iPad with the Bluetooth on, but to lose 20% over night and 100% after about 36 hours seems excessive.

I've looked online. There's a lot of info about how quickly the pencil charges, but not much on how quickly it is supposed to drain under normal circumstances. I didn't really notice any charging issues with my previous pencil but I wasn't really looking for them.

Am I just being paranoid or should I get it swapped out?
