Hi so I only have an iphone (no computer). I'm running ios 13.x is there any way to directly backup my photos/videos to an external device like harddrive? What app to use? Thanks!

AFAIK, there is no direct way to do it. There may be an app that in combination with some piece of hardware might be able to work but I wouldn't know.

For myself, I use Dropbox. It has a Camera Uploads feature and anything that gets saved into my camera roll on my phone goes up to Dropbox. I also have Dropbox on my computers. So, after taking a picture or video it automatically appears on my computers because they are connected to Dropbox. It's a simple matter of moving the file out of the Camera Uploads folder anywhere I like after that.

Google Photos functions much in the same way as well and presumably (I've never used it) iCloud Photos does the same.

Thing is I only have an iPhone, no computer. There’s no hardware with app, wireless etc that’ll backup photos videos via say, wifi?

Lightning to usb adapter, save photos/videos to icloud or phone storage, connect self powered external drive or thumb drive, use files app to transfer to drive. It will be slow.

Yes my photos are saved to iCloud. How do i use files app to move photos to external device like hd?

Something like this? I have a similar one. It works, but is veeery slow.
