Have the dock show in certain Desktops?

Is it possible to have the dock show in certain desktops and hide in others? By desktops I mean the spaces in Mission Control. Fullscreen does this but I want to do this without going into full screen so I can have two windows next to each other and maximise the amount of space I have on my 11" MBA.

There are 3rd party apps out there that let you modify things in the system like TotalFinder or OnyX so maybe there's something that does this.

Isn't it easy enough to toggle the dock on/off? I think there was a keyboard shortcut for it, ctrl+D or something, don't remember exactly.

Yes I get that, but since that doesn't seem to be possible, the shortcut seems the next best option.
