Have to keep entering password on OS X 10.8

I had IOS Mountain Lion recently installed at the local Macintosh store. Worked fine for about a week. Now, every time I walk away from my computer for more than 4-5 minutes, the screen goes blank and the Mountain Lion box asks me for my password. What can I do?

System Preferences > Security > General > "Require password ...".

Btw, it is OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, not "iOS", even if many, including me, sometimes call it that for "dumbing" Mac OS X down for iPhone and iPad users.
