I've seen posts and such related to phones not picking up LTE right away when entering an LTE area, but I haven't really had that issue. However, when I make or receive a phone call, and the phone drops LTE to go to HSPA for the call (I understand why this happens). However, after completion of the call, it will stay on HSPA+ (4G icon) until I toggle LTE or airplane mode.
Outside of this situation, I have no issues at all with LTE...it stays on throughout the day and never drops to HSPA+ unless I go out of the LTE area or make a phone call.
Is this something that might be fixed in iOS 6.1? Is it simply a limitation of current LTE hardware? I've searched but couldn't find any hard answers.
