I want to view my divx files on my TV so I have installed vlc4iphone and mplayer but that doesn't seem to have this functionality so I installed tv out and screensplitr but this had limited results. Does anyone have a solution for this type of setup?

There's no JB involved with DIVX movies for the iPhone.
All you need to do is get an app like MPEG Streamclip and convert to MPEG-4 and you are good to go...

I realize that, but I think the OP installed apps only available to jailbroken iphones.
