I'm guessing no I reckon after launch day one pre orders will be pushed away back and many won't get it until mid October.

The big difference between Steve Jobs and Tim Cook is that Cook knows how to manage operations. Steve waited so long to sign off on products that manufacturing and shipping was always tight. Since Tim has been in charge, there has been plenty of product for everyone!

From the rumor sites, it sounds like there are lots of the iPhone 6 in inventory but few of the 6+. My guess is that the 6 will be relatively easy to buy at the start, but the 6+ will have very long delays.

most rumor sites had the 5.5 releasing at a different day up until the keynote today....keyword here, rumor

nothing i have read indicates a shortage of 5.5 at launch

Not last year, unless you wanted space grey. Which I didn't.
