Have Windows Partition How to Create 3rd Partition for Ubuntu

If i open boot camp a third parition isn't an option, do i have to boot from the cd to create it? Then how do i put ubuntu on then? using boot camp or just boot to the cd an install on the new partition? will vmware see that automatically.
