Hi all, I know some on here have traded in a Mac using apples online program, but has anyone actually done this IN store? I believe they started accepting them in store back in June. Curious about the process, what they checked, how long it takes etc

@mrzeve, I’m glad you started this thread because I’m curious whether the experience of trading in a Mac in-store is as easy as trading in an iOS device.

For many of us in the States we can't answer the question as the stores haven't been open for trading in. Also at the time they may have been open, there really wasn't much new to trade in for.

In some regions that may be true. A good number of New England Apple Stores are open fortunately.

That's why I threw in the "many of us". In some parts stores were open for only a few weeks, and best you could hope for was curbside service. I even have a neighbor who says he can't even get his Mac Mini repaired for whatever reasons.

I hope customers didn’t get caught again in the repair limbo that happened when they first started closing stores last spring.

According to my neighbor, that wasn't even an option. They just straight up declined his request, suggesting he look to an authorized shop, for which he couldn't find one I think he trusts.

just an update I did this at Best Buy and they barely even looked at it lol
