I'm really interested in your story if your unlock DIDNT work, but also if it did please chime in.

I'm trying to work up the will to jump from ATT to Straight Talk. I'll want to be able to sell my 4S, and to do that I'd want it to be factory unlocked. The problem is if I cancel ATT they won't unlock a phone anymore. Thanks!

They will unlock as long as your account was in good standing.

I unlocked my wife's iP4 and my iP4S while with them (in good standing). Even after you cancel your account they'll unlock it (assuming you pay your final bill).

Really? Even as a former customer? I would think they'd tell you to screw off.

Good to know. I don't know if I'll be brave enough to test that, since its a risk once the account is cancelled, but that's good to know.
