I'm wondering if I'm the only one...I used to have the og iPad, and I often found myself frustrated over the slow browsing speed, for web and pretty much everything else.
With the new iPad 2...the device and os are so much faster it makes the iPad a completely different machine. I am able to look up stuff just as fast as on my little laptop...and with this new processing power, editing photos is fast and easy...I don't even see myself using my laptop for much at all anymore!

Is everyone else as pleased as I am about the speed of the iPad?

Is this your first iPad?

It's a common reaction. One the newness wears off you will start using your laptop again (well, OK, maybe not if its a Win. Ha. ha.) and will find that it's still good for something. That is how it was for me. I'm not ready to go 100% "post-PC" just yet or really anytime soon. If I need to do any serious work I go to the "real" computer.

Did u even read my post?

If so, that's an interesting question to open with...

Something is wrong with ur first iPad.

^^YEAH..ITS SLOW!
Lol...and sold so the point is moot..

Stop kidding yourself into thinking the iPad og is decently quick..it was usable, but just barely.

I also sold it before 4.3...so I never got to see the benefits from it.

It's hard to do serious writing/research/editing without a full-size tactile keyboard, mouse, and the ability to navigate among many different types of windows as you can do on a computer. Even with a bluetooth keyboard there's still no mouse and for people who work collaboratively there's no track changes on iPad software. That said, my laptop's on the shelf when it comes to media consumption.

+1

Consumption - Yes.

Productivity- NO.

And that is the truth. :D

Not replacing my laptop quite yet but I'm sure I'll be using it less and less--especially once my keyboard arrives in the mail. Only reason I'm on my laptop right now is because I just downloaded some new music and I have a paper to write.

How do you figure? There are tons of viable content creation tools available for iPad. Everything from spread sheets to text editors to vector graphics, paint programs, audio recorders and editors, blogging software...

iPad not a content creation platform? Someone better let Apple know.

I'm using my iPad for everything I used to use my mbp for. If I need to do something big I just go to my desktop. Even thinking about selling my notebook because of this.

I used to get pretty frustrated with the original iPad, especially with web browsing and would find myself jumping back to the MBP for long sessions. Now, with the iPad 2, I only see myself wanting to get in to the things the iPad can't really do. I couldn't be happier with upgrading, sucks that I rarely use such an expensive laptop.
