having a hard time sharing...

hey,

i have a home network with 2 Macs both of them running 10.5.4. i went under system pref and sharing and selected file sharing, and the G4 shows up on my Macbook Pro but if i try to connect it just idles and tells me that i cant connect to it. my G4 use to run tiger and it worked fine i just pressed on filesharing and i could connect and now it doesnt work.

any ideas?

i can connect to the macbook pro but the macbook pro cant connect to the G4.

I just noticed that i can connect to it using SMB should i choose that? but i mean AFP should work too right?

Check the firewall settings to make sure you are not blocking personal file sharing.

both computer are set to allow all incoming connection

Make sure that File Sharing is allowed under your sharing preferences.

ya thats how i figured out that SMB works but apparently after a reboot it didnt work anymore.

so i guess imma just reinstall it all over again, and hope for the better.
