Having a lot of trouble linking ical to gcal to phone : (

So, as the title says, I am trying to link my iCal on my macbook to my google calendar to my phone, so that my phone will always be up to date with what I put in my ical.

Ive followed a bunch of the tutorials on the net but they are all different and seem to have different outcomes. Ive made a mess of things and have all kinds of duplicate entries and calendars and whatnot all over the place. Ive decided to wipe it all and start fresh.

At this point I'm wondering if it is better to just surpass the iCal part and sync google to my phone and use the google calendar at home and my phone on the go, but I really like iCal...

might not be perfect but have you tried this http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358#ical

and then just use google sync for the iphone

So I have several calendars on ical, when I use caldav it adds my google calendar to ical, not my ical to google calendar.

So now Ive got my ical list and under it i have the www.google.com calendar list, which is my name and I cannot change it.
