Just got my X today. Love the phone, works awesome. I don’t have any complaints besides getting use to the gesture based OS.

Anyways , I’m currently using an otterbox pursuit case for my phone, it’s a good case on paper, thin but also feeling pretty sturdy.

An issue im having is that the built in volume rocker switch doesn’t seem to work with the phone. I flip the switch to put the phone on silent when I’m at work, but the switch isn’t working . I took the phone out of the case , the switch works fine without the case , so it’s not a phone issue. Definitely the case.

I posted here just in case someone has the same accessory as me and could shed some light on something I could possibly be doing wrong . I’ve already contacted otterbox via email. Gonna give them a call when I’m off. Thanks in advance everyone !

I believe you meant to say the mute switch, right? Absolutely a known problem. Call OtterBox and request a warranty replacement. They did so without question. The mute switch on this case is incredibly poorly designed. The switch itself also likes to juggle itself loose or come out. I've been I loyal OtterBox customer for a very long time. First product I've been dissatisfied with. That switch is a deal breaker. If the replacement case doesn't function better, I will abandon it and move along.

If you can, try to open the case and remount the phone with the mute switch of the phone in the groove of the case switch and carefully snap it back together. If it won't engage, get it replaced.

Luckily , I work for at&t, so I was able to test your theory if It was just a defective unit .

No luck, does the same thing in the newer case.

Kind of upset because I really like the case besides the mute switch issue

That's bad news. Looks like I'll be looking for a different case. Too bad cause the rest of the case is really nice

Absolutely agree man. Didn’t want the defender because it was a tad too bulky for my tastes.

This sucks. Guess I’ll use the pelican case I have in the mean time.

Does the Otterbox commuter fit the iphone X ok?

Looked fine when I put it on my phone . I’m just not a fan of them because dust like to inch it’s way in between the gaps of the outer shell and the soft shell.

I’ll probably just do the symmetry case I suppose
