Hi,

How are you guys doing? I hope doing very well : )!!!

Yesterday around 4pm., I placed an iPhone 6s next to
a new iPhone 16 plus. The idea was to transfer the
information backed on icluod to the new phone.

At 1am. today, the information was not completelly
transferred. This morning, around 8am, the iPhone
16 plus had a message for me: good news, that the
information transfer through icloud, from one phone
to the other, had been completed.

However, I have noticed that not all information may
have been transferred from one phone to the other.

The mail application, did not have my e-mails in the
new phone, once I opened it. However, it still did have
my e-mail messages in the older phone.

And whatsapp is not only asking me to start over in
the new phone, but in the older one as well. I can not
see my whatsapp messages in the older phone and I
had been sending whatsapp messages until twenty
minutes ago.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Because I want to make
sure everything from the old one is in the new phone.

Thank you, kind regards!

I just did this on the weekend (upgraded from 15 plus to 16 pro). The transfer won't include email account passwords so you may need to re-enter in the settings>mail accounts. I don't use WhatsApp so I don't have a suggestion.

Hopefully it's as simple as that.

Honestly speaking, the best thing to do would be to go grab your computer, either a Mac or a PC, and then make a backup of the iPhone 6s to the computer, either using Finder in the case of the Mac or Apple devices app in the case of the PC. If it asks you if you want to encrypt the back up, it's a good idea to do that since it's going to save extra information from the iPhone, just to make sure to use a password that you actually remember because if you forget the password for encryptions, all future backups made on that computer will also use that password meaning you won't be able to do anything with it and you won't be able to restore the backup because you don't know the password.

After that, wipe the new 16+ again, and during the setup process where it asks you if you want to restore from backup, select the option to restore from a computer, plug it into your computer, and then select the backup of the 6S that you just made and restore it onto that. Once that's done, a lot of the ancient apps from the 6S probably won't work immediately but will have to go through an updating process but this should all largely be taken care of by the iPhone itself and just download the latest versions from Apple servers. You might also be prompted to sign back in for different services like email accounts or any other sort of subscription based apps, but this is normal behavior and as long as you know the passwords are fine.
