Resolved Having issues downloading on 10.5.8

I can download in chrome, I can browse the web and download things but when I go to install spotify and it hangs on the "downloading spotify" part, same with things lie Vuze and other software that downloads in the background.

I looked into it and the best I could find was getting Java 6 to load first, I've done that after 5 was the first option but I'm still having this nightmare.

Any ideas?

It's an intel dual core 1.8 Mac mini running os 10.5.8 and it's all up to date.

Do you need more information? I guess this is a bit too vague?

I've ordered 10.6 update DVD from apple hoping that will sort it.

Repairing the permissions on the start up disc fixed it.
