Having Issues Transferring Settings to New Mac

This is getting really ridiculous. I used the migration assistant to transfer a 2010 MacBook Air to a 2011 MacBook Air. Everything went smoothly. Unfortunately the password doesn't work at all on the new computer. I also cannot reset the computer to default settings at all.

What can I do to fix this?
