The Google problem about not being able to view current version because they say I'm using outdated browser is one thing, but I'm having problems with banking online now in the browser.

10.6.8 Safari 5.1.10.

Bit put out by Google so don't want to use Chrome because they say I should if I want to view current Google pages..

I looked at Opera on App store, and wondered why Apple are only offering the old version and not the current one from Opera's own site. If you download Opera it tells you that it's outdated version. Is there a reason for that? And is Opera any good?
