After upgrading my MBP M1 to Tahoe I hear a quiet pinging sound every day, sometimes several times a day.
Initially I did not know to stop the pinging, thus, rebooted the Mac and it was gone. But during the day, with different apps running (mainly MS Office, Safari, and Parallels for my Windows apps) it started again.
I tried to figure out what app, or web-site it causing the ping to start but have not figured that out yet. I kept some apps and/or web-sites running, then tried other apps and/or web-sites, but so far I have not found the real culprit that starts the pinging sound.
But I have figured out that I can stop the pinging by pressing F4, F5 and F6 stops the pinging.
I had reported it to Apple tech support, but it was not a know issue they said.
I was wondering if anybody in the forum has experienced such a pinging sound and would you know what is causing it and how to stop it permanently?
I even considered going back to Sequoia, but being on 26.2 I would not want to go through the trouble of reverting back to the previous OS.
