I am trying to move my Itunes to my new Macbook Pro computer and then sell my old Macbook to my neighbor. Finally, last night, I found my music files in my old computer, attached my Seagate External Hard drive to my computer. It placed an icon for Segate hard drive on my desktop. But when I try to drag the music file to it, it just bounces back to my desktop. I also tried to copy the folder and paste it in the Segate external drive, but won't let me do that either. How do I get the music file into the external drive? This is driving me crazy?????

I have a better idea for you than using your external as a "middle man." Just boot up your macbook into Target Disk Mode and connect your new MBP to your old Macbook via firewire or usb. After that, transfer the entire iTunes folder(not just the media) onto your MBP HDD.

If the external is not allowing you to copy, then try not to use it.
