Having restore issues. Please help.

I'm attempting to upgrade to the 4.3.5 and iTunes continuously tells me my phone is not eligible for the requested build. My phone is stuck in recovery and is completely unusable.

As of now, I've tried:

DFU
reinstalling iTunes
editing hosts to allow me to go back to 4.3.3
upgrading to iTunes 10.5 beta 4 and 5.0 beta 4 (registered under dev)

I gave up last night and am having no luck again this morning. I have the genius bar appointment reservation site open and ready to go if that's my only option.

I don't care which version I get running. I just need my phone back. Thanks in advance.

Sadly this isn't an option at this point. The other computer is my wife's HP and she has been keeping it at work lately.

Usually this error is due to iTunes not being able to contact Apple's server. Do you have Tiny Umbrella installed?

What is the current OS of the device? If it is IOS 5 they wont help you at the genius bar. They told me to look at the IOS 5 developer forums for support. (Know This From Experience)

I was on beta 4.

As an update, the restore went without a hitch on the genius' computer. Gotta be something with my iTunes or hosts file...
