Hey guys, I'm running osx version 10.5.8 on an old G4 ppc. It ran fine for a long time then it started freezing up once in a while.

Although it was fairly easy to get it going again by hitting almost any of the F9 through F12 keys.

I figured I would just do a clean install on it, erase and reinstall but since the reinstall it seems almost worse.

I've done as much as I can think of, disk utility repair permissions and repair disk, I should mention it even freezes doing the disk utility but snaps back to life If I drag the utility window a little bit with the mouse.

It freezes at really random times, sometimes 10 times a minute others once in ten minutes and it does it when nothing is happening ie. no major programs running etc.

I'm starting to think it may be hardware related?

I'm at the point where I am going to buy a new mac but would still appreciate any help getting this one running smooth again. If possible.

Thanks
