Hey folks, I recently bought a 1tb Toshiba hard drive for my mac. It says it is compatible but just needs to be re-formatted for mac. I have done this in the past with hard drives through disk utility, but this hard drive does not show up in disk utility. I also tried Disk Warrior and neither are recognizing that I have a hard drive in the computer. My USB ports work fine, what else can I do?

Have you tried an SMC reset yet?
If that does not make the HDD recognisable, return it and buy another one.
