For those that bought an iPad 3 and change their model every other year, if October is the new refresh cycle, we can upgrade to the iPad 5 after only 17 months from when we bought it instead of 24 months like we are accustomed to.

This new upgrade is purely an "S" upgrade. Faster processer and better camera but no change in form factor, no weight reduction, and it isn't thinner. The next model will most likely be a change in design.

So being on the iPad 3 cycle is the best cycle. We get to upgrade a year from now.

Yeah! Maybe it'll even be a collectible....

Never intended on buying the ipad 4. If the specs that were announced today would have been announced 6 months from now I'd have felt pretty damn good. My ipad 3 is running great on A5 and I don't give a crap about the lightning port or the camera.
