Hey guys I'm having a problem with Home Sharing. Overtime I go to watch a movie from iTunes I get the message that I need to turn it on, even though it's already on. So I have to go to the mac, turn it off, then turn it back on again...everytime. Any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks!

don't let the mac go to sleep just let the displays go to sleep. Not to worry.... Mac are really efficient with power consumption.

I had this same problem. In my case, I tried all of the tricks as provided by macrumors folks but they didn't work for me. In my case, the problem began when I upgraded the macs to Yosemite. Around mid-December I went around the house and did a fresh install from a USB drive to all the macs and only after having done that did the problem go away for me. So for about 3 weeks now, not one problem either between macs or between macs and iPads/iPhones. Oh, and that includes family sharing on separate iTunes accounts!
