having trouble playing MP3 files from disc

Howdy Folks:

A bud gifted me with some music - MP3 files on a disc

My system opens disc fine - yet i cannot import them to a play list on iTunes - or even play them on iTunes

What am I missing?

Try opening them with quicktime. You may find that they are corrupted and that you cannot play them at all.

tried Quicktime and VLC - nothing

must be software incompatability - he is PC I am Mac

MP3's are MP3's no matter what OS you use (Windows, Linux, Unix, OS X, BSD, etc). No such thing as incompatibility man.

Dunno why - he mentioned reburning the disc as data file - He mentioned something about Nero - and I dont that is supported by OS X - is it ?
