I decided to download and give Brave a try even though Safari is pretty good. I'm aware that Brave is using WebKit due to Apple’s restrictions.

Everything is good except for the fact that I can't seem to stay logged into websites like Facebook or forums like this one. On iOS, for whatever reason, neither Safari nor Brave has the option to clear all history and browsing data upon closing, unlike Android. So I don't understand why I'm logged out after closing Brave. I do have all the options under “Clear Private Data” selected, but that shouldn't affect anything unless I tap “Clear Data Now”.

What’s going on?

Try to temporary enable cookie consent dialogs on the sites you want to stay logged in. After that you can disable the cookie dialogs again. This is some kind of counter measure from websites to sabotage ad blocker functioning properly. :(

That never popped up. Surprisingly, I don't have this problem with Safari! Also, no problem with Brave on Android.

Yeah, they never popped up, because Brave blocks cookie consent dialogs per default. This also happens with Firefox+uBlock or Brave on my desktop computers. I have to allow them once and after that it works for 3-6 month, until the cookie is invalidated. Then i have to allow them again temporary or the site simply doesn't work correctly.

Sorry, this didn't help in your case but you can try to experiment with the settings under "shields and privacy".
Brave behaves mainly the same as Chromium with uBlock origin, so it can depend on the blocklists that are imported.

So you think the cookie consent is the reason behind my problem?
