having trouble w/ TDK and Sony Cd players?

I want to buy a new Cd player this summer, I was thinking of getting the sony sports Cd player, but my suite mate has another brand of sony and they don't play TDK Cd's really well, can anyone shead some light as to how well TDK works with the sports, or what kinds of Cd players you use? Do they have troulbe with burnned Cd's? -n
